So, we were sitting at church the other day and my husband had his coffee sitting under the chair in front of him. The lid was off to let it cool a little.
A guy walked by to go to the bathroom and he kicked the coffee over. Even though my husband had just hollered out to him, "Hey watch my coffee please!" As the coffee spilled all under the front row of chairs and toward the stage my husband angrily shook his head in disbelief. He looked at me as he said "Didn't you just hear me ask him to watch out for my coffee?" I told him I did, but then also told him that I noticed the gentleman didn't hear him either.
I spoke to the guy after service. Nice guy. You could tell he had a breathing problem of some sort along with some possible other things. I said it was nice to see him there, and to meet him. We shook hands, I left.
That was not even a week ago. He died last night.
You see, we aren't promised tomorrow. We need to remind ourselves daily that those we meet, and those we know, and even for ourselves.....today might be our last day on earth. I think if we kept things in a perspective like that, we might live a little better, treat others a little better, and love a lot more.
What do you think?
