Just a thought for the day...especially if your day is particulary hard

Ps 16:11 You will show me the path of life: in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures for evermore. --Sometimes, life is hard. Really hard. Often times, the only real peace you and I will find is when we take the time to STOP, get alone somewhere with God, turn off all distractions....and just seek Him out and BE in His presence. Then ...and only then...does everything else just magically fade away and a peace that surpasses all understanding will envelope you as He envelopes you in His arms of refuge, safety, and love.

Controversy, Conflict, and .......A Choice

Meet Mr. Thomnas. He is my two year old shetland pony. Now, throw in an angry neighbor who doesn't like Thomnas "poo" and you end up with a choice to make. Fight, move, or cave.

Thomans and his faithful sidekick (other known as Bandit the Pigmy Goat) are not welcome in the neighborhood.

I could have been mad I guess. I could have stomped off as the print out copy of some 45 year old, outdated ordinance was handed to my husband.

I didn't do that.

I went next door and knocked on their door. I apologized for the trouble it had unknowingly caused them. I let them know that I was truly sorry.

When I brought these animals into my life, I guess I didn't really consider that my neighbors might not share that same love and passion. They bring me great joy and peace and so it didn't cross my mind that they would be capable of bringing anything less to anyone else.

Because I approached this situation in this manner.....it brought tears to their eyes. Not anger. It brought peace between neighbors, not war.

I am now finding a new home for them. Relationships, showing love and compassion for one another, and finding a peaceful agreement is more important than my "dream of a mini farm".

In the midst of this...somehow the conversation opened up and he revealed to me that he had once truly believed in God and given his life...then somewhere he began to doubt. Ya, random. I know. But awesomely random.

We weren't able to finish the conversation right then because I had to leave to get to my art class that I teach on Thursday nights....but I believe it opened up a door for future conversations.

I think its a good life lesson. Today, approach the curve balls that life throws at you with one thing in mind......

God is good.....all the time. And ALL the time....God is good.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

The rest is gravy.

Have a blessed rest of the day! Glad you stopped by today. Come back again soon friend.

Fear, The Silent Killer

So you are in a panic. Your breathing increases, your heart starts racing...you can't think of just one thing because your mind is racing a million miles a minute with no sign of stopping.

Ever been there?

Maybe you are there right now.

What if I told you that I understand. What if I told you that I knew the antidote and that I had a solution?

******Now, I am not speaking of situations where you are in danger. If you are in a situation where you are fearful for your life, get out of that situation as quickly as possible. Get to safety.*******

With that said, if the above is not your situation, then please, read on.

I have found myself in a panic before, sometimes for NO REASON AT ALL. For instance, I am in a grocery store shopping. All of the sudden, I would feel a sudden panic. I found it hard to breathe and I had to fight the urge to just leave.

Or, like one time that I was at a church and someone asked me to speak on a microphone and tell about the great things that had happened at a recent youth camp where I was there as a youth leader. I am surprised that I did not just FLAT pass out from panic.

Can you relate?

At a job interview. Maybe the panic begins in the car on the way there and just escalates all the way up into the interview room. Can they see the redness rising from your neck and utterly filling every inch of your face space? LOL

Okay, so we get the picture. NOW how do you fix it?

It is easy, but not necessarily a quick fix. I have seen it all change around in a month or so, sometimes sooner. But sometimes longer. One thing that I CAN promise is that it will change. It will stop. You will be okay and be able to live a fear free life.

Here is how to do it.

#1. Know who you are.
#2. Know your worth.
#3. Know your purpose.

Thats it. The BEST way that I know how to do that...is for you to read this. I did not write this....but there is no need for me to rewrite it. It is already PERFECTLY written. Every word is true. And every word of it works.

Take the five minutes. Then pass this on to your friends, family, and anyone else you can think of. Let me know how it goes.

Life is a journey...what road are you taking? Here is the one that Im on...

Have you ever seen the most beautiful sunset and all the different clouds, details, and colors? But right before that sunset happened, the sky looked pretty plain, normal, and not really noteworthy. But then...bam! Beauty.

See this picture above...it was just a scrap piece of 100 year old barn wood from an old mans farm. Unwanted, unused, and forgotten. I saw something in it. Something beautiful. It sparked a new interest.

Since then, Ive been collecting old pieces of wood and making something new out of it. This one is metallic paint....I call it my blue peace tree.
Here is a closer view of the wood grain.

So, then I started painting beach themes...heres what I came up with. I LOVE the ocean.

Asian themes....

And of coarse...chickens. You cant NOT paint chickens on 100 year old barn wood. It just wouldnt be right. LOL

So, what path am I going now...what direction? I think I like this one....This one and my mural painting. I love getting so totally lost in what I do that I lose all sense of time. Its a beautiful thing!
Want to see my latest mural?

Life is a canvas...just waiting to be painted.

Shut up, Be still, and Just listen.......................

Busy life? Feel like you are always running and never seem to get where you want to go. Have dreams that once were like a shimmering, gleaming light, source of excitement.....but now just a faded memory of something once treasured.

You are somebody you know. You have a purpose. You are important, wanted, desired.

Im serious.

 Love, Your Dad Almighty God

So, I'm sitting downstairs in my comfy overstuffed brown chair listening to the thunder and rain rumble through.............

And as I was sitting here...I was just reflecting about a few things. Do you ever do that? Just sit and think about things you can no longer change, take back, or redo. Those things that once its done...its done. No refunds, no do overs, no indian giving......

What do we do with these things that can haunt us late into the night? These nagging feelings of regret, frustration, and sometimes utter defeat.

Are we forever doomed to this cage, this prison we find our minds trapped in?

No.

We are not.

"Solution?", you ask? Well, of coarse. What kind of person would leave a friend hanging? Not this one.

You have got to talk to someone who can help you. You've tried that you say? Well, maybe you asked the wrong person. There is one. Only one actually, who CAN help.

You may have guessed it, you may have not...and if you are truly needing an answer, resolutions. solution...you will read on. Otherwise...come back when you are ready.

Psalm 37:5
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:
Psalm 40:17
But as for me, I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; you are my God, do not delay.
Psalm 55:22
Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
Proverbs 16:3
Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Matthew 6:25
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Matthew 6:27
Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
Matthew 6:28
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
Matthew 6:31
So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

And lastly...

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Take a moment. Say this prayer.

God, I give my life to you. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and I ask you to deliver me from this trouble. I ask for you to comfort, heal, and bring me out of this seemingly bottomless pit I find myself in today. In You, there is hope. You provide a way of escape for me. You are my deliverer, my Rock, my Salvation. I am calling on you, and I know you hear me right now and that you will bring me out of this situation stronger than I was before. I give you my heart. I trust you. Amen.

Im going to India on a mission trip. Want to send me?

http://www.gofundme.com/7xrpc4

http://globalventures.tv/india/

Dear Friends....

I recently made the decision to join Global Ventures on a mission trip this fall to India. Global Ventures has carried the Gospel to over 25 counties around the world, and has seen more than one and a half million souls saved as a result of their ministry. Global Ventures specifically selects areas of the world that are traditionally unreached. They take team members just like me, from all over the world, into these areas; winning thousands to Christ, while also seeing hundreds of instant healings and miracles.
On this upcoming trip I will take part in children’s ministry, street evangelism, and mass crusades where thousands hear the gospel for the very first time. It is an incredible opportunity, and I can’t think of a better way to spend my fall. I am excited to have the chance to experience a new culture, change the world, and come away changed myself.
I will be leaving on November 20th and returning home on November 30th. The total cost of this trip is $3,150.00, which includes all expenses: airfare, accommodations, food, and training. However, I can’t do this alone. Im asking my Facebook friends and family for help and asking everyone to join together and help me achieve my goal. $3,150.00 may seem like a lot to raise...but you know what they say.."How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." If everyone donates what is on their hearts...in no time I will have raised all of the necessary funds in full.
If you would like to support me you can donate right here on GoFundMe or you can please send a check along with my name and the trip I am going on to Global Ventures, P.O. Box 1860, Catoosa, OK 74015. In order for you to receive a tax deduction for your donation, you must make the check payable to Global Ventures. The form below has my name and trip on it and that is how Global Ventures will know to put it in the appropriate account. *If you’d like to pay with a credit or debit card over the phone, you can do so by calling (918) 266-5764. You can also give on-line atwww.GlobalVentures.TV/give. Be sure to include my name in the “instructions for seller” notes.
Your support is a key part to seeing lives changed during my mission trip this fall. Please agree with me for great results, and that we will have great impact in the country of India.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated!

God Bless You,
Tabitha

A Passing Thought, Stopping To Ponder

So, here it is. Have you ever had a thought that just seemed to get STUCK somewhere between those two ears of yours?

Ya, me too.

Here's the thing though. Yes, most of those thoughts are harmless...but then there are those that go from a thought, then you stop to think on it, then you start to imagine all sorts of stuff about it, then it becomes a stronghold.

Then poof....hes got you. Who is "he" you ask? Well, our adversary of coarse. There are two scriptures that sum this up. But first, I want to tell you what happened to me today. (Yes, I deal with this stuff too. We ALL do)

I've been painting at my church for several months now. I am doing the murals in the Children's Church. (I've added them to the bottom of this post for you.) Point is, I'm there all the time ......just me. There is a fridge there that is stocked with sodas. They are .50 cents and it is all based on the honor system. Meaning, you take one, you pay...but no one is watching you, and no one is going to "make sure" you do it. You just do it. Thus the term....honor system.

Anyways...

Over these past few months that I have been painting, several different people have mentioned this fact to me. That there is a stocked fridge with soda's and that they are .50 cents. I have never really thought much about it...until today.

Today, the Pastor came by and struck up a conversation about the fridge, the soda's, how much they are, that even those of us who work there pay for them. That the money is to pay for digging wells. That people probably take them without paying sometimes. For some reason, THIS time, a thought stuck between my ears.

"You are here alone all the time. He thinks you have taken soda's. He is trying to be nice and give you the benefit of the doubt that you just didnt know any better, and so he is taking the time to explain to you, AGAIN, that they are .50 cents, that the money goes to build wells.....He thinks you took some without paying."

Read this...

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 We use God's mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.
We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

1 Peter 5:8 Be of sober [spirit], be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

So what am I saying? That a thought is a dangerous thing? Well....yes! Where do you think every single sin starts? It is born as a thought. It has to be THOUGHT of before it can be acted upon. Right?

I asked the Pastors wife in a neurotic, anxiety ridden text ...that I hope they didnt think I stole sodas. It makes me laugh out loud now. But at the time, I really thought they might think that.

How did I get to that point? I let the thought take hold, I let it become a vain imagination. I let it get me into anxiety, worry, self doubt.....basically...fear.

Did you know that the subject of "Do Not Fear" is mentioned something like 365 times in the Bible? Think He was trying to get a point across? Ya, me too.

I think because if you have fear....you cant have faith. They are opposites and the Bible says that without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Lesson I learned today? When a thought of that nature comes....a thought that causes fear...give it to God in prayer and MOVE on. Don't dwell on it. Let the passing thought be just that..."passing". Don't let it get stuck between your two ears.

Hope this was helpful in someway today. Want to have a peek at some of the murals I am doing? Here ya go.
